A WORCESTER care home has celebrated its second birthday with cake and comedy.

Latimer Court Care Home in Darwin Avenue celebrated two years since it opened its doors earlier this week.

The care home, which currently houses 53 residents and specialises in dementia care, entertained residents and staff with a singer, comic readings and servings of tea and cake.

"We had a brilliant time," manager, Karen Hancox, said.

"The past two years have been very interesting, we've just been growing and trying to become a part of the community. The celebration was also a thanks to staff, who do a fantastic job. In those two years we have been named the top recommended care home in the city by carehome.co.uk, which is incredible.

"The residents all seem very happy. Dulcie Fletcher, who was the first resident to move in to the home when it opened, joined in with the celebrations and had a great time."

The care home will be taking part in Dementia UK event, Time for a Cuppa, on March 4, where members of the public can visit the home for a cup of tea and chat with staff and residents.
