A TEENAGER has been charged in connection with an alleged spate of courier fraud incidents in Redditch, Worcestershire.
The 16-year-old male from London will appear at Worcester Youth Court on Wednesday, April 15, charged with 15 counts of fraud by false representation and 5 counts of theft.
West Mercia Police revealed a total of £2,800 was taken from victims in the alleged offences, of which £1,670 has been recovered,
Police say the scam involved fraudsters calling a victim, claiming their card had been cloned. They would then ask the victim to contact the bank but remained on the line in order to take down the bank details. A courier would then be sent to collect the card.
The charges are in connection with a total of 15 offences, of which a courier was sent out on four occasions.
