A HORSE trapped in mud on the banks of River Salwarpe near Droitwich has been rescued by firefighters.
The distressed horse was brought to safety using animal slings and a JCB before being left in the hands of a vet and its owner.
Three Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews including the specialist animal rescue team from Pershore attended the scene.
The incident took place at about 9.33am today (Monday, June 29) near Ladywood, which is west of Droitwich.
