THE Victorian Christmas Fayre is now in full swing in Worcester, with thousands flocking to the city centre streets to be a part of the much-loved annual event.

The hands of time have once again been turned back more than 100 years in the city, which has been transformed into an era time has not forgotten.

Stall holders have dressed in classic Victorian attire selling a range of glorious items, street performers have been displaying their talents and a delicious range of food and drink is on offer too, all under the glare of Worcester's Christmas lights to ensure festivities are high.

This is the 23rd time the city has played host to the fayre.

A number of festival-goers have even claimed it’s the best one yet.

Posting on its Facebook page Caroline Passey said: "This is the best Christmas Victorian Fayre Worcester has seen, spread out a lot more and a variety of stalls. Really enjoyed last night it was lovely."

Shelley Lizzy Barton also said: "This is the best Christmas market I've ever been to.

"The people are friendly the stalls are more varied. It's child and dog friendly too.

"It was awesome yesterday."

Dermot McGillicuddy, a director at LSD promotions which is running the event for the first time, said: "It's going really well.

"We've had thousands and thousands of people coming to see what there is to offer so far, and the big stage we've got is certainly a massive bonus to the whole event.

"It's been a massive success so far, and we're really appreciative of people's comments.

"We just hope that the weather holds up as we go into the weekend, as that's traditionally the busiest time."
