A MAN who was aggressive and abusive outside the Shakeeys takeaway in Worcester has been fined almost £500.

James Stone, 23, of Trelawney Close, Worcester, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday (November 27).

The offence took place in Angel Place on Sunday, November 8.

Adrian Jones, prosecuting, said: "At 5.10am police officers were on foot patrol.

"The defendant had been barred from Shakeeys by members of the staff.

"He was very drunk and whilst being rejected by the doormen he started arguing and being aggressive towards them.

"He repeatedly said he want to speak to the door staff.

"Officers were concerned matters would escalate and asked Mr Stone to leave town.

"He walked off and police thought the desired outcome had been achieved but he then kicked out at street furniture.

"He returned and got his arms out aggressively, saying 'I will sort them out'.

"The commotion was disturbing local residents.

"Police gave him a final ultimatum but he refused to leave and they felt they had no alternative but to arrest him."

Stone, who defended himself in court, said: "When I start, I drink too much.

"I only go out once every month but that one time is causing me trouble.

"It was just down to alcohol."

Magistrate David Shadwell, chairman of the bench, said: "There were similar incidents in March and May.

"This is costing you a lot of money.

"You need to get a grip of yourself otherwise you are going to go down a path that is not advisable."

He ordered Stone to pay a £135 fine, £135 court costs, £150 court charges and a £20 victim surcharge.
