A TEENAGER was left with "serious" head injury following a crash which closed off parts of St John's.

The 18-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being hit by a grey Skoda Fabia shortly before 8pm.

The teenager was treated by paramedics at the roadside before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Police officers are now appealing for witnesses who saw the crash at the junction of Bransford Road and the B4486 near Malvern Road on Thursday night.

The driver was spoken to at the scene before returning home.

Police closed off roads near to the crash while they investigated and reopened them in the early hours of this morning (Friday).

There was a large presence of emergency services crews in the area including three rapid response vehicles driven by critical care practitioners, a paramedic and a paramedic area support officer along with an ambulance crew.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The woman who is in her late teens had a serious head injury.

"She was treated by crews at the scene before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.”

Her injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

On the Worcester News Facebook page, Jo Greenwood said:

"They've closed the road outside Pasha Indian just by the traffic lights too.

"I have no idea how far round the corner it goes but the police and ambulances have been about for over an hour.

"You can't get over the traffic lights to come down though St. John's."

Anyone with information should call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident 649s of 4 February.
