Emergency services were called to the incident in Bromwich Lane, near the entrance to Sanctuary Housing flats, just after 8.45am.
The youngster was rushed by ambulance to Worcestershire Royal Hospital, where he is being assessed.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, and helped officers with their investigation.
