MEMBERS of a primary school choir have a special new badge to wear with pride on their school jumpers.

Children in year three and four in the choir at Ombersley Endowed First School received Blue Peter badges after singing at the Young Voices concert in Birmingham's Genting Arena earlier this year.

After Barney Harwood from Blue Peter made a special visit to this year's show, some of the children wrote a letter to Blue Peter to say how much they had enjoyed meeting Barney and performing with thousands of other children to audiences of family and friends.

To their surprise, the children were rewarded with a Blue Peter badge, a special award which offers free entry into over 200 Blue Peter Badge attractions around the country including Alton Towers, Warwick Castle, the Black Country Living Museum and Twycross Zoo.

Pupil Joseph Al Bajjaly, who is currently in Year 4 said: "When I opened the letter, I saw it was from Blue Peter and I jumped up and down.

"I was so excited to get my Blue Peter badge."

Caroline Moore, headteacher at the school said: "We are so proud of our small choir who always work so hard and perform so well.

"They sang beautifully at Young Voices after practising their songs and dance moves all afternoon.

"What a lovely end to this exciting and memorable experience for our children."
