A TEACHER at Nunnery Wood High School has completed a half marathon to raise money for St Richard's Hospice.

Emma Telger, head of year 7, set herself the challenge to run the race which took place on Sunday, May 22.

She said: "This was my first ever half marathon and I feel extremely proud to have completed the race.

"There were over 1,000 runners from all over the country and I came 87th in my age category.

"Two years ago, I began doing the Park Run and progressed to 10k challenges.

"My new year’s resolution was to attempt a half marathon.

"If I can, anyone can!"

Her next challenge is to organise a race for life for year 7 girls and their mums to raise awareness about cancer and promote fitness and health.
