AN EMPLOYMENT event aimed at people leaving the armed forces will take place in Worcester next week.

On Thursday, June 2, the Industry Technology Awareness Event, organised by Ubi-Tech, will be held at the Worcester Warriors Rugby Club, Sixways Stadium, from 10am.

A number of telecoms employers will be at the event, to provide information for anyone considering a career in the industry.

Industry experts will speak at the event, including Dr Mike Short, the Vice President of Telefonica, Andy Sutton, the Principal Network Architect of BT, Rob Gardiner, chairman of Ubi-Tech, and various professors.

The day will be opened by Falklands War veteran Simon Weston CBE at 10.30am.

Ubi-Tech provides engineering and training services to the telecommunications industry, specialising in providing resettlement training for members of the armed forces.
