A TEAM of eight staff from Westacre Middle School took part in the Sight Concern Colour Run at the Droitwich Lido Park.

The team wearing the Westacre kit joined hundreds of other runners in the fun event on Saturday, June 25.

Ella Elvins, the school's head girl, also took part in the event.

Paul Barber, from Westacre Middle, said: "It was truly inspiring to see our local community working together for such a worthy cause.

"As a school, we are very proud that so many of the runners were pupils and parents from Westacre - really showing off what the ethos of our school is all about.

"As a staff team, we decided to enter for many reasons. Firstly, we are always keen to work with and support our local community- this is one of many great events that takes place in our Droitwich and we couldn't not play our part.

"Secondly, it is a cause close to our hearts at Westacre, where we have a number of pupils with Visual Impairments.

"We fully appreciate what great work Sight Concern do in our local area.

"Finally, the Colour Run is a fun family day out and we all had a great time and look forward to joining in again next year."
