ACCOUNTANTS from Droitwich put their sporting skills to the test at a charity fun day in aid of Sight Concern.

Staff from Ballard Dale Syree Watson Chartered Accountants competed against teams from businesses around the area at the event on Wednesday, August 17.

The teams battled it out in a series of fun sporting events, including an egg and spoon race, and raised a tremendous £1,100 for the Worcestershire-based sight loss charity.

Michelle Hammett, 42, team coach and accounts director at Ballards, said: "It was a fun way to get some exercise and work as a team but more importantly to raise some money for the charity."

Charlotte Lammas, 21, who joined the firm this year, took the gold medal in the three-legged race.

She said: "The event was a great way to get to know some more of the local businesses in the area. I didn’t expect working for an accountancy firm to be so much fun."

The sports day was held at the Old Elizabethan Cricket Club, in Droitwich Road, Worcester, and was organised by manufacturing company Waste Spectrum.
