A SCHOOL organised a host of activities for an open evening for prospective parents.

The Worcester All Star Brass Band, featuring some of the top brass players in the country, welcomed more than 400 parents and future students to the evening at Bishop Perowne CE College on Thursday, September 22.

Visitors tried out new technologies such as 3D printing and designing a new cupcake in the design and technology department.

They were also able to get involved with experiments in the science department, while students in the maths department explained how many problems encountered in life can be solved using mathematics.

Mark Pollard, headteacher at Bishop Perowne Secondary School, said: “The evening highlighted some of the fantastic opportunities available at our school and we received some very positive feedback.

"It was great seeing lots of future students getting involved, and enjoying the activities.

“During the summer break most departments have had an overhaul with a new lick of paint and inspirational statements have been positioned throughout.

"We also have some fantastic new teachers who have joined us including lead practitioners in English and maths Bill Tongue and Alix Billing, and a new director of music, Ashley Buxton, so there has never been a better time to join the school.”
