THREE dedicated members of staff have been lauded for their long service at a local dogs trust.

Dogs Trust Evesham staff have paid tribute to assistant manager Tracey Spiers who has been at the rehoming centre since 1991 as well as receptionist duo Laura Taylor and Sue McKerchar, who are both celebrating 15 years of service this month.

Chris Slight, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Evesham, said: “We are incredibly lucky to have so many dedicated members of staff here at the centre and we want to thank them for their hard work and commitment over the years.”

Ms Spiers started in 1991 as a volunteer before becoming a carer a year later.

She started as the assistant manager in 1998 where she has lived on-site ever since with her husband, two children and dogs trust dog, Poppy, the six-year-old whippet.

She said: “The last 25 years have flown by but I have loved every minute. I love playing a part in seeing so many dogs find their happy endings and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”

Ms Taylor came along to the centre in 2000 for work experience because she was ‘obsessed with animals’ and progressed into her role as a carer, where she spent 13 years.

She became a receptionist in 2014.

Ms McKerchar has been a receptionist at the Evesham centre since she started in 2000 having previously worked in offices and retail.
