A LOCAL woman will climb Mount Kilimanjaro for charity.
Demi Palmer, of Fernhill Heath, will undertake the challenge next month raising money for Acorns Children's Hospice.
She hopes to raise £500 for the charity in her five day climb, beginning on Friday February 10 with four work colleagues, two based in Birmingham and two based in Manchester.
Ms Palmer said: "I think it is because I used to go to King's School in Worcester that I want to raise money for Acorns as we always used to do things for them.
"It is a great cause to raise money for and I know all the money will go to people that really need it."
In terms of the challenge, she added: "I am quite nervous as I have not done anything like this before but the closer we get to it the more excited I am getting about it.
"I have wanted to do something like this for a while but the idea came as my boss at work suggested it, she is now not doing it but that is where the idea started for the rest of us."
