ORGANISERS of a community art project in Malvern have issued a last call for artists to get involved before it closes at Easter.

The postcard art project, entitled Little Stuff, is being staged by Malvern School of Art in Albert Road North to raise funds for Malvern Special Families.

Little Stuff requires entrants to submit an anonymous postcard-sized piece of artwork in any medium to go on display in the art school's Long Gallery.

At the end of the exhibition the postcards are taken down and shuffled up, and each participant will receive somebody else’s piece of artwork to take home and keep.

This is the third year that Malvern School of Art has hosted Little Stuff. This year so far, over 170 entries have been submitted in a range of media including drawings, paintings, photographs, textiles, stained glass and wood.

Helen Attree, chairman of Malvern Special Families, said: “We are delighted that so many unique and wonderful entries have been submitted to this community art project.

"The children and young people that attend Malvern Special Families clubs and play schemes have really enjoyed getting creative and taking part in this fantastic art initiative.

"We’d also like to invite anyone in the local community who hasn’t entered yet, to get involved in the project. This is a fun and creative thing to do with your family or for local organisations like schools and nurseries to do.”

The school's head Caroline Park said: “It’s brilliant to see such a huge variety of artwork entered this year, and it’s also wonderful to have so many people from the local community taking part.”

Entries should be submitted to Malvern School of Art by Friday, March 31, with a £1 entry fee per postcard, with all proceeds going to Malvern Special Families.

The exhibition can be visited during college hours, with a last chance to see the full range of work on Wednesday, April 5, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at the college open evening.
