A DELIGHTED Olly Murs fan is celebrating after winning the chance of lifetime to meet the pop superstar before his upcoming Worcester show.

Gemma Heywood entered the Worcester News' competition on a whim after buying tickets for her mum before Christmas – but never in a million years did she think she would win.

The 26-year-old scooped an exclusive meet-and-greet with the singer, along with a pair of platinum view tickets for the open air show, at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, in New Road, on Sunday, June 25.

She plans to take her mum – who is also a big Olly Murs fan –as her guest, and will give her bought tickets away.

"I was coming home from holiday and I had a missed call," said Miss Heywood, from Toronto Close.

"I was opening my post when I got home and I had one from the Worcester News. I opened it and it didn't register for a minute.

"I couldn't say anything – it was like being a teenage girl again! I am a big Olly Murs fan.

"I don't think it has really sunk in yet to be honest. It is an amazing feeling."

Miss Heywood has been to see the star three times before and says her favourite song is one of his well-known hits, Troublemaker.

Olly shot to fame after finishing runner-up on TV talent show the X Factor and has gone on to become a global superstar in his own right, notching up four multi-platinum albums, four number one singles and selling more than 10 million records in total.

He is known for huge hits including Troublemaker and Heart Skips a Beat and is performing 26 outdoor dates across the UK on his summer tour and says he can't wait to come to Worcester.

"I am thrilled to play outdoors at Worcestershire County Cricket Club," he said. "Outdoor shows are so much fun and I am looking forward to performing my biggest songs on my biggest outdoor tour."
