A SCHOOL'S garden was highly commended by the Royal Horticultural Society at the recent RHS Malvern Spring Festival.

Stanley Road Primary School pupils had created My Space in Space for the event.

They achieved winner in the best build category awarded by BAM Construct UK Ltd and came third, winning a £75 from the Campaign to Protect Rural England, Worcestershire.

The garden was very well received with amazing comments, including some from Blue Peter gardener Chris Collins, who described the garden as ‘excellent’.

Teacher Naomi Portman, said: "One of the judges was amazed with our potatoes which were further along than his own.

"Every year group in the school created an aspect of the garden which was then transported to Malvern ready for the show.

"Over 85 pupils visited plant nurseries and Malvern itself in preparation for the show."
