A PENSIONER has won a £57,000 car with £10,000 in the boot in a dream car giveaway.

Leslie Green and wife Pauline from Stourport were surprised with the keys to a luxury BMW X5 after entering a BOTB competition.

The xDrive30d M-Sport model is worth £57,460 but the couple also won£10,000 in cash.

The pair, who live on Walshes Caravan Park, were overcome with emotion as BOTB’s Christian Williams handed them the keys.

But after he popped the champagne corks, Mr Green said: “I knew I was going to win one day.”

Mr Green chose the 4x4 to get Pauline’s motability scooter into the boot.

He added: “I told everyone I’d win and although Pauline was always telling me to stop playing, my dream’s come true.”

BOTB was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has handed over the keys to more than £22 million worth of supercars.

Listed on the stock market, BOTB has high-profile stands at airports and in Britain’s biggest shopping centres, with 75 per cent of all people playing online at BOTB.com.

Christian Williams, who handed Mr Green the keys in Tuesday morning’s surprise, said: “I reckon I have one of the best jobs in the world, handing people the keys to their dream car.

"But when you see how much it means to people like Leslie and Pauline, that’s when you realise how life-changing it can be.

“The winner’s reactions range from stunned silence to screams, but I think Pauline’s reaction was wonderful - she just couldn’t believe what she was seeing.”

The company uses former professional footballers such as England international Sol Campbell to judge the competition independently each week, alongside current and former referees.
