HEAVY rain falling in Worcestershire tonight is the aftermath of a hurricane, according to forecasters.

Although Hurricane Gert has lost much of its power as it has travelled across the Atlantic, the remnants have brought heavy bursts of rain and wind to the UK.

Dave Throup, Environment Agency manager, tweeted earlier: "We are currently enjoying what remains of Hurricane Gert.

"Will deposit 15-25mm of rain widely.

"Watch out for poor travelling conditions."

The rain is likely to carry on tonight although will dry up by tomorrow.

According to the Met Office, tomorrow will be mostly cloudy with patchy rain at times.

A few very warm bright spells are likely in the afternoon, with Tuesday being much warmer and brighter.
