Police received a call from a member of the public at 12.49am raising concern for a man who was said to have been on the wrong side of the barrier on the Worcester Bridge on the A44.
Officers attended and attempted to talk to the man, who is believed to be a 62-year-old from Worcester, but at 1.17am he fell into the water.
