A PUPIL was approached by a man and asked to get into his car outside Dodderhill Independent Girls School in Droitwich.

The girl, who school staff described as a "senior pupil" did not get into his car and told the school, who have reported the incident to the police.

The student was approached at around 4pm on Thursday October 12 and headteacher Cate Mawston sent out a letter advising parents to pick pupils up from the school site rather than from just down the road.

She said: "There was an incident last week which has been reported to the police.

"The student in question did absolutely the correct thing (in reporting it) and the police have been very helpful.

"We have advised parents to pick pupils up from inside the school grounds, where there is CCTV and it is well lit."

Police are currently investigating the incident.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "Police have received a report at around 5.15pm on Thursday 12 October, of a man in a small light blue Audi asking a teenage girl if she wanted a lift in Droitwich.

"The incident happened around 4pm outside a school on Crutch Lane, Elmbridge, but the driver is not reported to have left the vehicle.

"He is reported to be described as a white man with a tanned complexion with brown hair and a short beard.

"Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 583s of 12 October 2017."
