AUTHOR and playwright, Mark Billen visited Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College to talk to a class of Year 7 students.
Mr Billen writes for young readers through to adults and shared a variety of his work.
The students participated in reading a whole range of books, taking parts of characters where appropriate.
Mr Billen talked about the process of writing and illustrating his young reader books, which he photographs teddy bears in various scenes.
Each book can take a couple of hours to illustrate, by moving the bears around into each position.
The students enjoyed the session which ended with one pupil saying that he was the best author he had ever met.
His visit took place on Tuesday, April 17.
