A WORCESTER woman will take on a gruelling 205 mile cycle ride from Weston Super Mare to Southend.

Louisa Summer, 49, will take on the challenge on Tuesday July 3, aiming to finish on Saturday July 7 or Sunday July 8.

Miss Summer, who lives near Worcester Shrub Hill Station, is doing it for the National Autistic Society in an aim to raise £700.

Miss Summer has Aspergers Syndrome and wants to help other people who have problems with autism.

She has so far raised £352, around half of her original target.

She said: "This is my toughest challenge so far, 205 miles over 5 to 6 days.

"I am doing it all for autistic people all over the world.

"Every penny is well spent helping them in living independently."

This is the fourth charity cycle she has taken on after last year cycling from Dover to Brighton piers.

Previously she has travelled from Worcester to Weston-Super-Mare and vice versa the following year.
