Budding artists, illustrators, animators and graphic designers from the University of Worcester have revealed the results of three years of hard work at an annual public exhibition.

The Worcester Degree Show 2018 celebrates the work of more than 100 students on Art & Design, Fine Art, Creative Digital Media, Animation, Illustration and Graphic Design degree courses.

The University’s final year undergraduate students are presenting some of the pieces they created during their studies in the final year degree show, held at two locations in the city.

It will feature everything from paintings and sculpture to interactive installations, photographs and adverts.

The exhibition, which takes place at the University’s city campus, in Castle Street, and in the studio teaching spaces of The Garage, off Hylton Road, is open to the public until Friday, May 25th, 10am to 4pm daily.

Speaking at the exhibition launch, Dani Newman, who studied Graphic Design, said: “It’s just been a lot of fun, to see everyone’s work over three years come together and see how everyone presents their work.”

The 20-year-old, from Stourbridge, who at the launch was awarded an internship with local design agency The Happy Giraffe, added: “It’s been a really good learning experience and it’s been great to be with people who like the same subject. It’s been so much of a team effort and I think we inspired each other.”

Liam Turner, 21, from Stourbridge, who studied Illustration, created his pieces by projecting ink drawings onto people and then photographing it.  He said: “I’m really proud of what I have done.  I’m really happy with how it turned out and it is really good to be able to show off our work.”

Student Dora Kokoric, 21, from Croatia, who studied Creative Digital Media, said: “It’s been brilliant.  It was a lot of hard work, but I think it came out great. We had a lot of support from the tutors and the teaching staff.”

Ree Han, head of the University of Worcester’s School of Art, said: “This is a chance to see the outcome of a year’s worth of work by our students; from study and research to the final pieces on display.

"As with every year, the show demonstrates the talent and creativity of our students, while showcasing a wide variety of different styles and ideas.”
