YEAR 8 pupils from Winterfold School, Chaddesley Corbett visited Worcester Racecourse as part of a cross curricular day.
The pupils had the opportunity to visit the stables and the weighing room, as well as taking a look at the course and jumps.
Maths and Science skills were put to the test with the formulation of calorie controlled diets for the jockeys and calculation of safety distances for the parade ring.
In the afternoon, everyone had the chance to watch the races in The Racing To School Handicap Steeple Chase, cheering on the jockeys and appreciating the splendid horses.
The head boy and head girl were asked to present the prize to the North and South winning owner and trainer.
Sarah Miles, Year 8 Teacher said: “The children had a great day and learned so much about what goes on behind the scenes at a sporting event.”
The trip took place on Thursday, May 10.
