THE mess left after a crash at a notorious city centre blackspot had not been cleared up earlier, nearly a month on from the incident.
A Worcester County Council spokesman has apologised for the clean up delay, saying the pile was expected to be cleared up this afternoon.
The crash between a bus and an Audi took place on April 25, at the junction of Sansome Street, Shaw Street and Foregate Street.
The bus mounted the pavement and crashed through a railing barrier, taking down a pelican crossing lights pillar.
The incident was the latest in a string of crashes at the junction in recent years, and the authority launched an investigation.
At lunchtime today the pile was still on the corner next to A Plan Insurance, surrounded by safety barriers. The pile included railings, street signs, rubble and a pillar that was brought down.
The pile was left from the original clear up operation done by staff from Ringway, Worcestershire County Council Highway's contractors on the morning of the crash.
The county council spokesman said: "We apologise for the delay in clearing the debris."
