POLICE have made an arrest after a man was allegedly found carrying a bladed weapon in Broad Street, Worcester.

Officers were called just before 11am on Thursday to reports of the man carrying the weapon.

Nobody was injured during the incident and the man was quickly located and arrested by officers.

Inspector Alex Warner said: “A 34-year-old man from Worcester has been arrested and remains in police custody at this time.”

Insp Warner added: “I want to reassure residents and local businesses that we are treating this as an isolated incident.”

Witnesses to the incident are being asked to come forward to speak to the investigating officers.
