ALMOST 100 walkers put their best foot forward along a new eight-mile circular walk to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The Droitwich Diamond Jubilee Walk was officially unveiled by the town’s MP Peter Luff and 96 people turned out on Tuesday to test the walk.

It was the brainchild of Mike and Jan Skan and was supported by Councillor Pam Davey.

The intrepid group set off from Droitwich Leisure Centre before taking in the Barge canal, community woods, Coney Meadow reed beds, the hamlet of Salwarpe, the Woodland Trust’s woods, Gaudet Luce golf club, Hadzor Village, the Birmingham-Worcester canal to the Eagle and Sun and the Junction canal before returning to Vines Park.
