Detectives hunting for second man after armed response in Malvern

POLICE have issued this picture of a man they are hunting in connection with an incident that led to an armed raid in Malvern.

Richard Smith, aged 25, is wanted in connection with assault and criminal damage offences following an incident on Friday, August 3.

Officers wearing helmets and body armour and carrying submachine guns stormed a flat in Elgar Avenue after reports that a man was seen with a gun in Gloucester Close. A woman from Gloucester Close was allegedly assaulted and had damage done to her car.

Adam Murray, aged 18, from Ledbury, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday, August 10, charged with possessing an imitation firearm, assault and criminal damage in connection with the same incident.

However Smith remains at large and detectives are appealing to members of the public to help them track him down.

Smith is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, of a slim build with short, brown hair.

He has the word ‘Liverpool' etched into his left arm, along with a tattoo of the grim reaper. He also has a woman's name and the word ‘Family' tattooed on his right arm.

Detective Sgt Chris Percival, who is leading the investigation to find Smith, said: “ His last known address is in Archer Close but we believe he has recently visited addresses in Elgar Avenue and The Glade.

“He has strong links to Malvern and is thought to still be in the area.”
