Students on long march to success
7:50pm Saturday 15th September 2012 in Worcester
MAKING THE GRADE: Worcester College of Technology students making their way to Worcester Cathedral.
STUDENTS at Worcester College of Technology took to the city streets to celebrate their graduation.
Nearly 400 students graduated from the college this year and more than 170 of them attended a ceremony at Worcester Cathedral yesterday.
The day started with a procession through the city, starting at the college’s All Saints building in Deansway and through the CrownGate shopping centre to the Guildhall where Councillor Roger Berry , the Mayor of Worcester, joined the procession, before arriving at the Guildhall at noon.
During the ceremony, the congregation listened to guest speaker Stephen Marston, vice-chancellor at the University of Gloucester. Principal Stuart Laverick said: “It is always a delight to celebrate the success of our students, especially in the impressive surroundings of the Cathedral.
“We have some outstanding students this year and it is a pleasure to see them graduate.”
For a full list of the graduate’s names see Tuesday’s Worcester News .
