A MAN accused of aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving who is alleged to have driven at over 140mph is due to have his case committed to crown court.

Christopher Kennedy is accused of aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving, using a motor vehicle without insurance and driving while disqualified.

Kennedy, who appeared before magistrates in Worcester on Tuesday, is accused of driving a black Renault Megane in excess of 140mph on the M5 northbound at Droitwich on Monday, August 27.

The charge reads: “Additional aggravating factors were damage to the undercarriage of the car and driving in excess of 140mph”.

No application was made for bail and Kennedy, aged 29, of Showells Gardens, Birmingham, was remanded in custody until the case is scheduled to be formally committed to Worcester Crown Court at a hearing at the magistrates court on Tuesday.
