Fine for ice-cream thief
A MAN was given a curfew after stealing Cornetto ice-cream and alcohol from supermarket.
Wayne Turner, 21, of Sycamore Road, Worcester, admitted stealing four cornettos and two bottles of MD20/20 from Nisa Stores when he appeared before magistrates.
Sarah Stock, prosecuting, said on September 29, Turner took the ice-creams and bottles of alcohol even though he had the money to pay for them.
Turner was already on bail after being arrested eight days earlier in relation to racial aggravation and criminal damage.
In his defence, Mark Lister said he was “quite drunk having been a party for a friend’s birthday for the last two days” and had a problem with alcohol.
District Judge Nigel Cadbury imposed a community order with an eight-week curfew, £85 costs and compensation of £4.65.
