A Diamond Jubilee street party was held on Sunday on Albert Road, Ledbury.

Despite some showers and the cold, the street turned out in force for a super street party.

The children tucked into homemade sandwiches and treats whilst the adults enjoyed a glass of Pimms.

The hat competition was judged by Ledbury Mayor, Cllr Phil Bettington, an Albert Road resident.

Organiser Brenda Hill said that it was a marvellous occasion and that she cannot remember there ever being a street party before in Albert Road.

The party also gave many neighbours the chance to meet, many for the first time. One resident had lived in the street for over 70 years whilst others had only recently moved in.

Another older resident wore her MBE proudly saying: "there aren't that many occasions when you can wear it".

Everyone had a name and house number badge, so that made it all a bit easier.

The photo shows the children sitting down to their Jubilee picnic.
