Family’s tributes to man killed on A449

VICTIM: Matt 'Dizzy' Dyson VICTIM: Matt 'Dizzy' Dyson

AS tributes pour in to a Worcester man killed on the notorious A449, a Home Office pathologist has concluded there were no other vehicles involved in his death.

Matthew Dyson died on the Worcester to Kidderminster road shortly after midnight in the early hours of Friday.

South Worcestershire police said the Home Office pathologist was asked to carry out the investigation into the "unexplained" death because the circumstances surrounding the death were unclear.

Following the outcome of the tests yesterday, a police spokeswoman said: "The post-mortem examination concluded the injuries sustained were consistent with being in collision with the two vehicles.

"There is no evidence to suggest that another vehicle or person were involved and inquiries are ongoing."

Yesterday the family of 25-year-old Mr Dyson, known to his friends as Dizzy, paid tribute to their son and brother.

His father Nick Dyson, 48, of Rosemoor Gardens, St Peter's, Worcester, said: "Usually a son learns a lot from his father, but I learnt far more from Matt than Matt learnt from me.

"He has been a rock that I shall terribly miss."

Mr Dyson's sister, 24-year-old Katherine Dyson, from Wychbold, spoke about her "one-in-a-million" brother.

She said: "He was a brilliant brother, one-in-a-million and he was always there for me. He was just such a special person in my life and it is hard that he has gone."

In a tribute written after his death she said: "Matt, I miss you so much, you are my world and much more. I love you so much and I cannot believe you have gone.

"You were my brother and my best friend, I wish I could hear your voice once more.

"I know you are with me now and I like to think you are my guardian angel.

"All my love, always and forever, your sister Katherine."

His uncle Timothy Dyson added to the tributes, describing Matthew as "a rock" and a friend.

Family friend Dawn Whiten, said: "I was honoured to know him in such a short time. He was such a dude."

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw Mr Dyson in the area or the collision, or speak to anyone with any information. Witnesses can call 08457 444888 quoting 5-s-0703078 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
