Fond tributes to ‘generous’ Dizzy

THE family and friends of a man who died on the notorious A449 Kidderminster to Worcester road have paid tribute to the "generous" 25-year-old.

Matthew Dyson, known to friends as Dizzy, loved extreme sports, music festivals and spending time with his friends.

For the last two-and-a-half years he had been working as a service engineer with Amada in Kidderminster and had been with work colleagues at their annual staff meal at the China City restaurant at Dunhampton on the night of the accident.

As he left the restaurant and was walking towards Ombersley he was in collision with a car and pick-up truck and died in the early hours of Friday, March 7.

"He was so generous and had a lot of time for everyone, especially his sisters Katherine and Jenny, step-sister Tara and step-brother Craig," said Paul Jones, one of his housemates.

"He would do anything for them."

Mr Dyson had lived in Worcester all his life.

His father Nick Dyson, 48, of Rosemoor Gardens, St John's, said: "Usually a son learns a lot from his father but I learnt far more from Matt than Matt learnt from me.

"He has been a rock that I shall terribly miss."

His housemates in Leicester Street, Barbourne, Worcester, spoke about their "spur of the moment" friend who loved football, snowboarding, golf, and rock-climbing. Surfing was another of Mr Dyson's passions.

"He had just imported a camper van and we were going to go away to the Gower in Wales to go surfing," said 27- year-old Mr Jones.

"The Gower was a big part of his life," he added. "He wanted to get a job as a tree surgeon there."
