Flood defence firm’s success

A DEFFORD businessman is offering homeowners peace of mind when it comes to flooding by leading the way on flood defence systems.

Frank Kelly runs UK Flood Barriers, based in Droitwich, which has worked with many households in the area who, after two bad floods in the last decade, are increasingly concerned about the safety of their properties.

In England and Wales, more than five million properties are believed to be at risk from flooding. Losing irreplaceable items, having difficulty getting insurance companies to pay out enough to cover the cost of the damage and the stress of being away from home during repairs are just some of the problems that flooding can cause.

UK Flood Barriers aims to provide a complete solution to the most common flooding problems and has developed a product range designed to prevent water from entering the property.

The business was developed after managing director Mr Kelly experienced the nightmare of flooding himself.

He said: “I started sourcing the best products available. I found inventors in the UK and went about producing the best flood barriers in Britain.”

‘Smart airbricks’ and backflow valves, strong door barriers which can be made to fit any door from patio doors to garages and which take just two minutes to install, are just some of the solutions the company can offer.

Company spokeswoman Sarah Vaughan said: “Climate change and flooding, while a country-wide problem, has had catastrophic local consequences, none more so than in the Vale of Evesham.

“Working together with local businesses, housing associations and residents in Evesham and the surrounding villages, UK Flood Barriers has already installed whole-of-property flood protection in properties throughout the region.”
