SINGING stars of the future are preparing to take to the stage for this year's Pop Icons competition.
Following on from the success of last year's event, 25 talented youngsters from schools around Worcestershire will put on performances to showcase their talents.
The finalists will be competing in the solo female, solo male, ensemble and under-14s categories at the event, organised by Worcestershire Arts Education.
One of the youngsters performing from Droitwich Spa High School is Amy Weir.
She said: “Performing is something I love to do, so singing in front of so many people will be an unforgettable experience for me."
Debbie Poulton, Worcestershire County Council's county arts administrator, said: "It really promises to be a great night, showcasing just some of the many talented young people in Worcestershire.
"All the finalists deserve a lot of praise for making it this far and I'm sure they will love every minute when they're up on stage performing."
Other schools represented include the Chantry High School, Martley, and Dyson Perrins CE Sports College, Malvern.
The event will start at 7.30pm and takes place at the Artrix, in Bromsgrove, on Tuesday, March 3.
Tickets costing £6 and £4 for concessions are available from the Artrix Box Office on 01527 577330.
