QUIZ masterminds can take part in the last fund-raiser organised by an action group who have tirelessly campaigned for village flood defences.
In its final event, Kempsey Flood Action Group (FLAG) is hosting a pub quiz in the function room of the Crown Inn, in Main Road, Kempsey, on Friday, September 4.
The group has been raising cash to help secure £1.4 million flood defences for the village and has collected more than £5,000, since being set up earlier this year.
The future of the Environment Agency project will be decided by members of the regional flood defence committee on Wednesday, September 16.
If the scheme gets the go-ahead funding will be released, and a planning application will follow soon after.
The village missed out on funding in January, after committee members turned down the money.
But the group has galvanised support from the fire service, police, and councillors and successfully helped lobby for a funding contribution from Worcestershire County Council.
The Crown was shut for 13 weeks following damaging floods which struck the village in July 2007.
Quiz teams of four can enter for £12. Team names should be registered in advance with organiser Guy Maeers on 01905 820969.
Entrants should be there at 7.30pm, ready for an 8pm start.
