SHOPPERS from as far away as Ireland and London descended on Tenbury Wells' first holly and mistletoe sale of the Christmas season. "The sunny summer created ideal growing conditions," said auctioneer Nick Champion, "and I should think we have had one of our best ever entries, although the sheer volume kept the prices down." Best mistletoe sold to 75p per lb and best holly to £1 per lb. It was the first of three annual holly, mistletoe and Christmas tree sales at the traditional Tenbury Wells market. The other two are on successive Tuesdays, December 5 and 12.
