AN amazing display of clinical finishing by Cinderford Town's players smashed Bromsgrove Rovers' unbeaten start to Southern League Division One Midlands.

Sitting pretty at the top of the table going into the game, Rovers would not have expected what was to unfold over the course of the match as they were humbled 7-1 on their own pitch.

The visitors opened the scoring after seven minutes when Matty Williams finished from 12 yards after the hosts had failed to clear their lines.

Nathan Lamey hit the woodwork for Rovers, but Richard Kear and Nathan Jukes both scored with shots from distance to give the visitors a 3-0 lead.

On 55 minutes, Neil Davis pulled a goal back for the hosts, but the three-goal cushion was restored three minutes later when Jamie Hammond converted from long range. Player-manager Chris Burns made it 5-0 on the hour mark and Neil Griffiths scored Cinderford's sixth goal after 76 minutes. Substitute Ben Gascoyne then got in on the act by scoring the seventh goal to complete the rout.
