ALL football matches on Worcester City Council pitches have been called off for the second weekend in a row.
The recent wet weather has left grounds waterlogged, or under water in the case of Pitchcroft, and the council are keen to avoid any further damage.
The move will affect youth football matches and the Worcester and District League with officials of the latter believing there will be no fixture backlog despite the double blow.
Clubs due to play rearranged Worcestershire FA cup clashes have been asked to consider switching their games to opponents’ grounds if possible.
Worcester League secretary Tim Phillips said: “I know this will cause some frustration but, from our view, we are fairly up-to-date with fixtures.”
