GARETH Seddon's header 11 minutes from time saw Worcester City lose 1-0 to play-off rivals Halifax.

The striker's effort proved the difference in a tight game at St George's Lane, in which kick-off was delayed by 20 minutes because the visitors' bus broke down en route.

Worcester's best chance fell to Mike Symons in the first-half, while Greg Mills drew saves from keeper Matt Glennon.

The hosts also gave a debut to centre-half Graham Hutchison, on loan from Birmingham City, but he suffered concussion after half an hour and was replaced by Lee Ayres.

Midfielder Tom Thorley felt there wasn't much to choose between the teams and insists City will strive for improvement.

He said: "It's extremely frustrating. There wasn't a lot in the game at all, they were happy with a point and were probably playing for set-pieces but they got the break in the end.

"I thought in the first-half we played well in parts, it was more getting back to where we want to be. It was slightly more huffing and puffing in the second-half and we played into their hands a little bit.

"We'll look to improve our quality in the final third in training again this week, we are working hard on it and hopefully it will come. In think it's a case of being more ruthless in both boxes."

The midfielder added: "We are in a tough run of games but they are all tough in this league and we've got aspirations to be up there so every game we go in looking for three points and it will be exactly the same next week.

"There's definitely positives we can take and we need to build on those and hopefully get three points next week."
