HEREFORD United aim to put their FA Cup disappointment behind them and continue a challenge for the FA Trophy tomorrow.

Martin Foyle’s men lost 2-1 in extra-time to Cheltenham Town in last Tuesday’s second round replay at Edgar Street, ending their hopes of hosting Everton.

The Bulls boss was proud of his players’ efforts against the higher-ranked Robins but claimed Jermaine McGlashan “conned” referee Dean Whitestone for Shaun Harrad’s penalty which put Cheltenham ahead for the first time.

But he knows the focus must now switch to tomorrow’s FA Trophy second round home match against Conference South promotion-hopefuls Chelmsford City (3pm).

Hereford are 11th in the Blue Square Bet Premier and lost only once in 11 games prior to the cup defeat.

Foyle said: “There’s still some tired bodies and we are obviously despondent, probably even more so when you look at the DVD and see how their player has conned the referee for the penalty.

"To take a League Two side who are tipped for promotion into extra-time is a good achievement.

“The cup has been good for us but now we need to push on.

“It would be nice to get another distraction and if we can beat Chelmsford we might get another home tie. The Trophy is a competition we want to do well in.”

Striker Ryan Bowman (knee ligaments) is out, while right-back Andy Gallinagh (groin) is a doubt.

Midfielder Josh O’Keefe has extended his Edgar Street stay until the end of the season having arrived on a short-term deal from Southport.
