Malvern Radar keep sights firmly on title

WATERLOGGED pitches again caused the vast majority of Worcester and District Football League matches to be postponed over the weekend.
But Malvern Radar enhanced their Sunday Division One title hopes with a 5-1 win at Goodrest Juniors for their sixth successive victory.
Matt Cole scored twice for Radar with Louis Loader, Lee Mason and veteran Alan Preece also on the scoresheet. Tom Malone netted a consolation for Goodrest.
Brewers Athletic are now six points clear at the top of Division Four after crushing Trinity Sports 9-2.
Shane Wade netted four times with Ben Price, Mike Young, Ryan Schooling, James McKee and Gary Knight also finding the target. Carl Lacroix and Sean Molloy scored for Trinity.
WCT Raiders made it nine wins out of nine at the top of the Premier Division with a 4-2 victory over CMB Sports.
Lee Tomkins bagged a brace with the other strikes coming from Jamie Insall and Nathan Hayward. Nigel Grundy and Olly Dyde replied for CMB.
A nine-goal thriller at GDL Athletic Reserves in Division Five saw visitors Westside Wanderers win 5-4.
Westside’s goals came from Clint Homer (2), Simon Bodily, Phil Coleman and Matt Stock, while Mark Edwards and Chris Wyse were on target for GDL.
In Division Two, Hallow hammered Anchor Falcons 6-1 with Steve Coopey firing a treble and Rob Perrins a double.
On Saturday, The Red Lion succumbed to an embarrassing 17-0 Division One home defeat at the hands of Hallow.
Insall found the net five times and there were four goals each for George Martin and Tyler Attwood.
