CHARLIE Little has revealed there will be ‘some good news’ for Worcester fans on the player recruitment and retention front.

The Sixways managing director has been impressed with Corin Palmer’s impact in this department since joining Warriors as rugby operations director.

Little explained: “At this time of year, the focus also naturally turns to player recruitment and retention.

“Corin joined the club in the summer as rugby operations director and has worked tirelessly to analyse every aspect of the playing department and move our psychology forward.”

He added: “I have been delighted with his input and I’m very hopeful we will have some good news to report to you all in the coming weeks and months.”

While Little admitted there have been a few below-par performances from the team this term, he insists there are exciting times ahead at Sixways.

He continued: “The start of a new year is always a time to both reflect on the previous 12 months and also look ahead with fresh optimism and enthusiasm.

“The players and coaching staff are determined that 2013 will be the best ever for the club. We start in a better position than we were in a year ago.

“We have scored more than double the number of tries, with 19 compared to eight this time last year, and have more points with 25 on the board.

“I acknowledge there have been a couple of performances that have not met the expectations of the club, but I have always been pleased by the immediate reaction to these and the new-found levels of intensity produced by the Warriors.”

Little added: “At Sixways, we are all very excited about what 2013 holds after another year of progress both on and off the field.

“We are proud of our dedicated rugby site which sees hundreds of youngsters play the sport every Sunday hoping to be the next home-grown Warrior.

“It has also given everyone at Warriors great delight to see Worcester Wanderers riding high in Midlands One West.

“And Worcester Ladies are having a fantastic season as they push for the league title while having a huge number of players rewarded with international call-ups.”

Here he goes again folks....Charlie's hype. Isn't this what he said last year & the season before.
Considering we have had to play a full game & a half so far this season with only 14 men & crept up to the heady heights of 4th from bottom, that, I suppose, is some progress.

Could you not come up with a more exciting image other than an empty grandstand and a self adoring image of one of the most unpopular people at the club ?
For any of us that care , we believe that this self publicist is an insult to the true intentions of the clubs benefactors , that wish to see a thriving club and is held in esteem by its supporters . A bit more commitment and imagination from the management with results that justify the investment would go a lot further than this dose of 'spin'.
