TYLER Weir could miss his first Worcester City match of the season today because of a knee injury.

The right-back needed stitches in a wound following the 4-2 New Year’s Day defeat at Gloucester City and did not train on Thursday evening.

He will be assessed ahead of today’s Blue Square Bet North trip to Colwyn Bay (3pm) but may miss out on the trip to Wales.

Central defender Jacob Rowe is also doubtful after suffering a knee problem against the Tigers.

However, manager Carl Heeley is hopeful of having 11-goal top-scorer Mike Symons available despite the striker continuing to struggle with a back injury sustained against former club Gloucester City on Boxing Day.

Weir has been one of City’s most consistent performers this season after joining the club in the summer and has been an ever-present in the side, playing 27 games in all competitions.

Rowe, who has started 21 matches, can play on the right but his possible absence could force Worcester into a reshuffle.

Captain Stuart Whitehead filled in for Weir in the latter stages at Whaddon Road, while winger Greg Mills, who returns from a one-match suspension today, and Charlie Reece are City’s other right-sided options.
