MANAGER Martin Foyle says his com-ments about Hereford United’s performance against Telford might have been overly critical.

The Bulls boss described last Tuesday’s 1-1 draw as “the worst I have seen us play for a while.” He even went as far as publicly apologising to the fans for the display, which came off the back of victory at Kidderminster Harriers and a well-earned point at Blue Square Bet Premier leaders Grimsby.

But, having taken time to reflect on the game ahead of today’s visit of Alfreton (3pm), Foyle reckons he might have been a bit hasty.

Although still not happy with the second-half effort, he felt there was enough shown in the first period to hold his team in good stead.

“I was disappointed we didn’t get the three points,” he said. “We started the game well and played some really good stuff but couldn’t get that second goal.

“Set-pieces were the most disappointing factor. We were as bad as I thought but there was some sloppy play in the second-half.”

Meanwhile, Hereford are offering fans reduced admission for the Dartford home match next Saturday by producing their ticket stub from the Alfreton fixture. Adults will pay £12 to sit and £9 to stand, while it will be £10 and £7 for concessions. Juniors will pay £7 and £5 with under 10s paying £5 and £3.
