A THIRD clean sheet in a row is Worcester City’s aim when they take on Bishop’s Stortford this weekend.

Last Saturday’s goalless stalemate against Altrincham at St George’s Lane made it back-to-back blanks in the goals against column following the 3-0 win at Colwyn Bay.

That is something Carl Heeley’s team have done just once this season, against Colwyn Bay and Histon in September, and they are determined to better that in Hertfordshire on Saturday.

Defensively, Worcester were strong against the Robins although they failed to find the net for the third time in six matches.

“We’ve kept two clean sheets in a row and that has to be the benchmark,” the Worcester manager said.

“The goals will come, I’m confident of that, and it’s another opportunity where we should be looking to get something out of the game.”

The Bishops are 18th in the Blue Square Bet North table after winning 3-1 at Vauxhall Motors last Saturday.

Heeley added: “I expected them to do better when they brought Rod Stringer in as manager they had a fine run. But they’ve struggled.”
