Hereford United striker points towards winning home run
STRIKER Ryan Bowman wants Hereford United to get back to winning ways at Edgar Street – and quickly.
The Bulls have not won at home in any competition since November 6 and have drawn their last two Blue Square Bet Premier matches on their own turf after surrendering winning positions against Alfreton and Telford.
Bowman scored twice against Alfreton last Saturday but that was not enough to stop the Derbyshire visitors earning a point.
Crowds have also dropped off, increasing the pressure on Hereford to end that sequence. They will have to wait though after today’s visit of Dartford was called off because of snow.
Bowman said: “I’m not sure what it is about playing at home, whether it is the crowd and the pressure and the confidence.
“But we do seem to do better away from home – and that is something we need to sort out quickly. We knew it would not be easy but we were hoping for six points from the Telford and Alfreton matches.”
Bowman has netted 14 goals this season, 10 of which have come in the league, and had hoped to continue those exploits against Dartford.
The 21-year-old said: “I seem to have had quite a few injuries this season but, touch wood, that’s it now. I just try to score goals when I play and thankfully I have done that.”
